Element Legends - Painting Masters - August 2025
"Element Legends - Painting Masters" is our series of painting competitions, organised and hosted by the North West Gaming Centre.
This is your chance to test and improve your skills, learn new techniques, and finally start (or finish!) that project that’s been taunting or enticing you these last few months.
This year we are introducing THE GRAND MASTERS CATEGORY - this category is for all entrants who have won gold, silver or bronze (or finalist pins etc) in Element Legends Painting Masters, Golden Demon, MPO or other similar painting competitions. This category is not divided into sub-categories and is open to entries of any game system, model range, size, scale and number of models (within reason!). Max 1 entry per entrant. Express yourself and push your skills!
Everyone else will have their entries submitted into either our LEGENDS or STAFF categories, and then in turn into one of our four sub-categories (max 1 entry per sub-category):-
SINGLE MINIATURE - This category is for any single miniature that would normally have a base size from 20mm to 40mm including mounted models. This can be from any game system or model range and presented however you like as long as it is on an appropriately sized base. Examples: Characters / Champions / HQ’s / Lone Wolves
VEHICLE / LARGE MODEL / LARGE SCALE / BUST - This category is for any other single miniature that is larger than the single miniature category. Everything from dreadnaughts and tanks, to greater daemons, titans and busts. This can be from any game system or model range and presented however you like.
UNIT / SQUAD - This category is for squads and units containing 3 or more miniatures. The miniatures can be on foot or mounted, as long as there is a cohesive theme to the unit/squad. These models can be from any game system or model range and presented however you like, as long as they are on appropriately sized bases.
DIORAMA “TELL US A STORY” / ARMIES ON PARADE –This category is your chance to tell us a story! Anything from a duel, or diorama, to an army on the march, creativity is key here! The tale of the diorama should be clear and cohesive. There are no restrictions, the diorama can be from any game system or model range and presented however you like.
If your entry is larger than 40x40x40cm, please be aware that your entry would be on open display in the gaming centre, and whilst precautions/measures will be taken to protect your entry, Element Games and The North West Gaming Centre cannot accept liability for losses or damage.
If you’re unsure which category your mini would belong in, feel free to email us at
[email protected] to discuss.

If you are not local to Stockport and The North West Gaming Centre, you can submit your entry via courier. Please send your model in with your full name, email address, return shipping address, and which subcategory(ies) you are entering, to us FAO Rupert using the address above.
Once judging is complete, we'll send your entries back to you using a courier service equivalent to the one you used to send it in to us, and we'll contact you to cover the costs for this p&p.
If this is the first time you've sent models via courier, the key is to pack the models quite snuggly using a packaging material such as bubble wrap or newspaper, and then to place in a strong but lightweight box (that could withstand being thrown in the back of a van for example!).
